Although this necklace does not depict a traditional scenic Swiss image, it features the fine Swiss enamel craft, dating from the early Victorian (ca1850s) era! Crafted in vibrant 18kt yellow gold, the piece is comprised of elongated open bar links that connect together to form a gorgeous flexible chain. An incredible black and white Swiss enamel pattern covers the entire surface of every link, creating a fabulous double-sided design which is mirrored on both sides. The applied enameling consists of curved inlaid black and white stripes that blend seamlessly with vibrant gold outlines and delicate beadwork. A complimentary enameled design decorates each round connector ring and finishing the design is a split ring that fastens the chain together and creates a perfect place for adding a special pendant or locket, if desired. Thanks to the generous length of the necklace, it can easily slip on and off overhead, and it's hollow nature makes it incredibly lightweight for comfortable wear. A magnificent and versatile piece that could be worn day or night, this chain would make a stunning addition to any collection!

Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures approximately 25" long. Each open bar link measures about 1 1/4” long, slightly under 1/2" wide, and 1/8" thick. The inside of the split ring measures slightly more than 1/4" in diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the chain necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the split ring is secure and in good working order. Due to the intricate and delicate nature of Swiss enameling, and given the age of the piece, some of the enamel work shows wear when under close examination, however, it is not noticeable when worn, and does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece.
